This pod is a classic, and the morph "Dairy Cow" is often one of the first kept by those new to the isopods hobby.
It's no wonder why; they're hardy, prolific, and eye catching! They prefer damp or moist conditions, although can handle it partially dry. They breed very well when basic conditions are met numbers can build to large proportions. They will eat almost anything organic and make an excellent component of a bioactive tank (though not necessarily one with delicate or sensitive inhabitants). A good choice as clean up crew for larger animals.
We also offer the completely white morph 'WHITE OUT' as well as 'ORANGE' morph as well.
ISOPOD - LAEVIS
All lots sold come as groups of a mixed age juveniles, possibly an adult or two. The reason for the high proportion of juvenile animals is to ensure you're being sent animals with lots of life ahead of them, rather than adults who may die of old age shortly after reaching you. We find that younger isopods are more adaptable and tend to adjust to their new homes better.
The '+' after the lot size indicates the number stated is the minimum number you'll be receiving. The count does NOT include manca (newly birthed isopods, still white in colour), although it may be mostly juvenile animals which comprise the count.
